Japanese Tree Supports
This technique is a century old method from Japan that is a very creative way of managing and pruning branches. Instead of discarding tree branches that seem problematic or hazardous, support is given, both to young trees to help manage growth, and also for older trees to help extend their life for many years. Various man-made propping techniques are employed to create support. The Japanese use many means of caring for trees and encouraging growth into old age.
Pest Control
We use a licensed injection method named Mauget
to combat insects and disease. Injected chemicals stay in the tree longer and circulate throughout the tree. It is kinder to the environment,
as the chemical is not airborne.
Planting
Seedling to Mature – All tree selection, site evaluation and preparation and planting.
Lightning Rod
We offer lightning protection with the installation of a lightning rod.
Stump Removal
Largess Forestry, using modern equipment, can grind stumps to below ground level.
Tree Removal
Largess Forestry strives to preserve and provide health care to as many trees as possible, but certain circumstances may make removal of a tree necessary or the best alternative. For example:
• A tree is dead or dying
• Poses an irreparable hazard
• Causes an obstruction that cannot be corrected with pruning
• A tree will be replaced with a native or better suited tree*
• Removal will allow for construction (in some instances, we may be able to transplant the tree or work around trees.)
*We may create a forest restoration plan, where invasive species of trees are removed and native species are re-planted.
Mycorrhizae Root Treatments
Mycorrhizae are symbiotic relationships that form between fungi and plants. Mycorrizal treatments greatly increase the surface absorbing area of the roots, producing a healthier root system and increasing plant vigor. The best time to apply mycorrizal root treatments is in the spring and fall, when the roots are most active.
